The Organisational Value of Performance Consulting

The organisational value of performance consulting takes place in Altrincham on Tuesday, 14 May 2019 from 18:30 to 20:30. Bookings went live in September 2018, and the event recently sold out recently. We’ve set up a waiting list, and if we receive any cancellations, we’ll release tickets.

Key Contemporary Ethical HR Risks

Later in May, we’re holding a roundtable for Chartered Fellows and senior HR leaders on key contemporary ethical HR risks. Our roundtable takes place on Thursday, 23 May 2019 from 18:00 to 20:00 at Manchester Business School.

We’re delighted to welcome Edward Houghton. Head of Research and Thought Leadership at the CIPD. Edward will discuss the role of evidence and how the new Profession Map supports evidence-based decision-making and professional judgement (recognising and resolving ethical dilemmas).

Neurodiversity At Work

How much do you know about Neurodiversity? ‘We need to admit that there is no standard brain,’ wrote Thomas Armstrong in his pivotal work The Power of Neurodiversity. Neurodiversity refers to the infinite range of differences in individual human brain function and behavioural traits.

We encourage you to read the CIPD guide to Neurodiversity at work in association with Uptimise. You’ll find practical examples from organisations already appreciating the benefits of a neurodiverse workforce and actively supporting their staff. The guide aims to encourage employers to create more inclusive workplaces where neurodivergent individuals can thrive.

Manchester Branch Annual Conference & AGM

Our final branch event takes place on Monday 10 June in Manchester from 16:30 – 20:30. Tickets sold out rapidly, and we encourage all those attending to stay for our AGM. We will present a review of our year and annual accounts before electing a number of new committee members and saying a fond farewell to those stepping down.

CIPD Northern Annual Conference

This year’s Northern Annual Conference will focus on how to create healthier, more inclusive and innovative organisations.

Dr Paul Litchfield, former Chief Medical Officer at BT, joins a fantastic line-up of speakers. Paul will be exploring why well-being matters and looking at the links between well-being, a fairer society and making the economic case for prevention.

Helen Moulinos joins us from Stonewall to discuss the importance of building an inclusive work environment. Helen will explore the difference between ‘talking about diversity’ and delivering ‘real and sustainable impact’ in the workplace. Helen will also deliver an excellent case study on the challenges employees can face when working at client sites (and giving examples of how to address some of the barriers to inclusivity).

The conference panel discussion, chaired by Tony Vickers-Byrne, Chief Advisor for HR Practice CIPD, will focus on the regional challenges for both organisations and HR professionals in implementing new technologies, embracing an open culture on employee well-being & mental health, and encouraging more inclusive workplaces.
