Public Policy impacts every area of the People Profession; from employment law, inclusion and diversity to reward and organisational development. Influencing policy and practice in the world of work is an integral part of the CIPD’s strategy to champion better work and working lives, and never more so than during the pandemic.
Understanding Policy
For students it’s important to understand the impact of Policy on the future of work and to feel confident in engaging on Policy matters to help build a solid foundation for future learning and career. On 9 December we’re hosting an online event particularly focused towards students. We’re delighted to welcome Ben Willmott who leads the CIPD’s Public Policy team. Ben and his team work to inform and shape debate, government policy and legislation to enable higher performance at work and better pathways into work for those seeking employment.
Online event
During our event, Ben will provide students with a comprehensive introduction to Policy, ensuring they are fully equipped to apply the knowledge and resources to their studies and future career progression. We’ll also share with how CIPD Manchester Branch is ensuring the voice of people professionals across Manchester and its boroughs is being heard at a national level.
Join us via Zoom on Wednesday 9 December from 18:00.
Emma Brookes (Public Policy Advisor) and Emma Smart (Student and Centres Engagement Lead) host our forthcoming event for CIPD Students and look forward to welcoming you!
