Welcome to the first addition of our 2023 spotlight on CIPD Membership benefits
I hope you have all had a safe and happy Christmas and are looking forward to 2023!
I wanted to start the year off strong – so to compliment the December edition in which we focused on goal setting benefits, and what Steven Berry has talked about in this month’s newsletter around habits and new year resolutions, I thought I would be useful to take a look at the dedicated wellbeing services you have access to as a CIPD Member.
Who has heard of Blue Monday? It’s always the 3rd Monday of January, this year the 16th. A good reminder of the importance of maintaining good mental health.
You can use the confidential helpline provided by Health Assured, giving CIPD members free help and support 24/7/365 via telephone or online – this allows you access to a qualified therapist accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
You can tap into Legal information services which is support on a range of issues including personal, financial and legal matters; Debt and financial information – support for issues such as debt, investments, pensions, managing money, negotiating with creditors; and Manager consultancy and support – at helping people managers to support their teams effectively.
You can use the online portal which provides:
• Information on work and home issues, lifestyle, mental and physical health and general wellbeing.
• Factsheets, advice, information and self-help tools to proactively address specific wellbeing areas and make healthier, more informed lifestyle choices.
• Links to specialist support organisations.
• A Wellbeing Resources area with access to: 4-week programmes, wellbeing videos, ecoaching webinars, medical information and online mini health checks.
You have access to My Healthy Advantage health and wellbeing mobile app, which provides an enhanced set of wellbeing tools and engaging features designed to improve your mental and physical health by using personal metrics to set goals and achievements.
I use this app and find it really useful with the daily reminders around drinking enough water and I tap into the 4-week programmes and webinars regularly.
So it’s all there folks, there as part of your membership to be used and to gain benefit from – are you taking full advantage?
A continued shout out to all the Manchester group members – please contact me if you want to feature in the spotlight member on membership benefits. Three areas I would love to know about: what benefits do you use, why do you use them and the impact they have had on your work/you.
Connect with me on LinkedIn.
It is important to us that as members you have the opportunity to share your experiences – the more you do that, the stronger the community becomes.
